President’s Invite to Downtown Summit
The new year provides opportunities for reflection and renewal. As I reflect on the past year of WDAC and Wisconsin downtowns, I see the return of vibrancy to many communities that had been sapped by the COVID-19 pandemic and two years of high inflation. Many communities recorded record levels of visitation and retail activity in 2023 and even more saw new businesses open and thrive. We anticipate great things for our communities this year and know that WDAC will take a central role in showing how Wisconsin downtowns evolve and thrive.
We are pleased to bring the Wisconsin Downtown Summit to Wausau this May. This marks a return of this event after a hiatus in 2023 and a visit to a central Wisconsin community that has been reinvented in recent years. We look forward to hearing stories about the rebirth of its downtown and riverfront neighborhoods. We cannot wait to hear from leaders across the state about new ideas and initiatives.
Most importantly, we want to see as many of our friends and colleagues join us and reconnect.
