Will you tell your story?
Arts organizations and the creative sector throughout Wisconsin have a great opportunity to tell the stories about positive economic impact on our communities large and small.
Wisconsin’s Creative Economy Coalition was formed earlier this year to build greater awareness of the role the creative sector plays in Wisconsin’s economy. It’s not just about ticket sales or exhibit fees, but rather, the additional revenue generated by patrons—gas, lodging, dining, retail—all related to the cost of an admission ticket.
We’re taking this show on the road and are looking for volunteers willing to tell their organization’s tory and the impact it has in their community. Will you speak at your local civic organization – Rotary, Kiwanis or Chamber of Commerce – meeting?
Our partners at Michael Best Strategies (MBS) will create the PowerPoint materials and provide message points for you to use in the presentation. They’ll work out the logistic details with the group as far as a date, time, length of presentation, etc. All you need to do is show up and tell your story. If there’s no civic organization in your community, perhaps MBS can help with a newspaper or radio opportunity?
By sharing your story, you will get attention from lawmakers and community leaders who can further our efforts to create awareness of the economic influence the arts and creative sector have in supporting rural, suburban, and urban communities across the state, while also garnering publicity for your organization.
Please reach out to Margaret Fritsch of MBS to learn more and to sign up to participate or to learn more. Many thanks for your good advocacy!
