Board President Katherine Westaby shares what she brings to WDAC and what WDAC can do for you!
Katherine is currently a Community Development Consultant with Vierbicher Associates. Previously she worked for the City of Platteville, and for Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission. Katherine’s education includes a BA in Geography from Miami University (Ohio), and a Masters in Community Development from University of Cincinnati. She is a certified planner and recently obtained her Congress for New Urbanism accreditation (CNU-A).
Katherine has managed various planning projects from Land and Water Resource Plans, Comprehensive Plans, Tax Increment Districts, and Downtown revitalization plans. Katherine brings her Geographic Information Science (GIS) expertise to all projects. GIS helps determine how, where, and when designs can have the greatest impact to improve the quality of life.
As the current Wisconsin Downtown Action Council President and past local Main Street Vice-President, Katherine is a strong believer that our downtowns and main streets are the heart of our communities.
She has been with the board for almost five years. In the last two years as President, she has answered emails and phone calls from Downtown managers on where to start with their revitalization efforts. These conversations are always full of excitement of what can be achieved. WDAC has many partners and resources shared on our website. We also love to chat with our members about efforts and projects. Reach out if you have any questions.
