Allyson joined Definitely De Pere in October 2012 as a program intern and became the program’s Executive Director in April 2013. Since that time, the program has grown to include 185 member businesses, has established a Business Improvement District, and has received national accreditation from the National Main Street Center. Allyson’s primary responsibilities include promotional events and marketing, historic preservation and maintenance of De Pere’s three historic districts, business recruitment/retention, and enhancing the downtown De Pere relationship with St. Norbert College.
Prior to joining Definitely De Pere, Allyson pursued her graduate degree while serving as an intern in Congressman Reid Ribble’s Green Bay district office. Allyson relocated to Wisconsin from New York in 2011. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rider University (Lawrenceville, NJ), and a Masters degree in Public Administration from Marist College (Poughkeepsie, NY). Allyson is actively involved in growing and maintaining the town-gown relationships between colleges and downtowns and recently coordinated the inaugural Wisconsin Thriving College Towns Summit, hosted in De Pere in 2014. Allyson is a member of various De Pere-based committees and organizations, as well as sitting on the planning committee and YP Week committee for the Current Young Professionals organization in Green Bay. She is an active volunteer for Junior Achievement of Brown County across six area schools.
